AUTO-STAK®

Store virtually anything - cost effectively and with quick access.

The AUTO-STAK® Automated Parts-To-Person System has been designed to meet a broad range of storage and retrieval applications in manufacturing, distribution, retail, and warehouse operations. The combination of optimal storage density, flexible, efficient storage strategies, ergonomics and security makes the AUTO-STAK® from Rapistak a unique storage management solution.

The modular AUTO-STAK® Automated Parts-To-Person System is an enclosed system of vertically and horizontally arranged trays that are stored on either side of the unit.

There is an extractor device located in the center, which automatically delivers steel pallets with the stored items into the access opening at the push of a button or scan of a bar code.

The device is modular in its construction with the ability to change its length and number of access openings pre and post construction. Depending on the ceiling height, at least 50% of a conventional storage system's occupied floor space can be recovered.

Steel Processing Facility

A leading company in the Americas that manufactures and processes a broad range of steel products using the most advanced technology. With over 1,400 paint drums they needed a better and safer way to handle and store their paint inventory. They wanted an automated system that would track the inventory and allow access from each end of the system.

The maximum weight of a single paint drum was 770 pounds. The total number of storage locations was 1,476. This was a Class 1, Division 2, Group C application. There are 100 movements in a 7 hour shift. Using an Allen-Bradley ControlLogix 5500 Programmable Logic Controller with a Allen-Bradley PanelView 5500 HMI Terminal. This AUTO-STAK® Paint Drum System operates 3 shifts per day 7 days a week.

By installing the AUTO-STAK® Stacker Storage Management System the steel processor was able to reduce personnel injuries, increase access times, reduce storage space and increase production space.
