Nextran Truck Centers are full-service truck centers located throughout Florida, Georgia and Alabama. During a recent expansion Nextran needed to increase their parts storage capacity of their service center in Orlando, Florida.
By placing multiple small boxes on one pallet and one or two larger boxes on one pallet Rapistak was able to design a Storage Management System to handle all the boxes and more. The system consisted of 220 pallets 48” wide x 48” deep. Each pallet has a capacity of 4,000 pounds of uniform distributed load. The rack height is 16 feet high with one row of rack having 18 sections and two back to back rows of rack having 13 sections. With the pallets instantly adjustable every 4” the boxes are able to be stored with very little wasted air space. Because of the air space savings the total system was able to take up less room than any other type of storage system Nextran looked at.
By installing a MAX-RAK IAR 246 Storage Management System Nextran was able to increase access times, reduce storage space and increase service space.

Nextran is a growing network, currently with 16 full-service truck centers located throughout Florida, Georgia and Alabama. They sell and service only the best medium to heavy-duty trucks from major manufacturers such as Mack, Volvo, Ford and Isuzu.
Nextran's goal was to build a warehouse of truck parts, but they needed the flexibility of adjustable shelving to achieve that goal. Rapistak's MAX-RAK IAR 246 Instantly Adjustable Rack gave them just the right amount of flexibility. Using 48" wide x 48" deep pallets capable of supporting 4,000 pounds each and with a section capacity of 24,000 pounds, they figured they needed three rows of ten sections of rack. By adding a top shelf to the rack they would be able to store longer items that would not fit on the pallets like drive shafts and exhaust parts. Nextran was able to utilize all of the cubic space available giving them the maximum amount of storage in less space.
By using Rapistak's MAX-RAK IAR 246 Instantly Adjustable Rack, Nextran Truck Centers was able to save 80% of ground level space, increase storage in less space, increase accessibility, and improve organization.

They required 64 sections with 52" wide x 42" deep pallets and 28 sections with 82" wide x 42" deep pallets. Each pallet was required to hold 2,000 pounds of uniform distributed load with flow-thru decking. The rack sections were to be installed out doors under a canopy to maximize storage space.
